Eco-Friendly Resins
Iwatani offers a wide range of eco-friendly resins to help reduce carbon emissions and the use of plastics derived from petrochemicals. These products include bio-PET, aluminum catalyst PET offering outstanding recyclability, bio-PP/bio-PE/bio-PS resins, and biodegradable resins.

Bio-PET Resins
Bio-PET resins are manufactured using bio-based monoethylene glycol (bio-MEG) refined from molasses, a byproduct of sugar cane processing. This means that some 30% of the PET resin composition can be made up of plant-based materials.

Aluminum Catalyst PET Resins
Iwatani first began selling aluminum catalyst PET on the Japanese market in 2016. Offering outstanding recyclability, the resin is produced under license by Indorama Ventures PCL, among the world’s largest PET resin manufacturers.

Bio-PP/Bio-PE/Bio-PS Resins
Iwatani first began offering bio-PP/PE/PS resins in 2021. These products use bionaphtha derived from renewable resources, such as waste materials and residue oil.

Marine-Biodegradable Resins
Iwatani is actively engaged in developing and offering products that use marine-biodegradable resins for single-use items such as drinking straws, cutlery, food container packaging, and shopping bags.
