Bio-PP/Bio-PE/Bio-PS Resins

Based on Bionaphtha Derived From Renewable Resources Such as Waste Materials and Residue Oil

Iwatani first began offering bio-PP/PE/PS resins in 2021. These products use bionaphtha derived from renewable resources such as waste materials and residue oil. Products use the mass balance approach first adopted in Europe, and receive ISCC certification from a third-party body, enabling us to provide biomass plastics with quality comparable to petrochemical-based plastics while reducing CO₂ emissions. Iwatani also offers segregation grade products allowing C14 measurements to meet both mass balance and segregation requirements. Products are suitable for a wide range of applications, including bottles, injection moldings, films, and fibers, and meet needs across virtually all sectors.

Product Characteristics

1. Major CO₂ reductions compared to conventional petrochemicals
2. Biomass content for segregated products is approximately 50%. Mass balance products are guaranteed at 100% by ISCC certification.
3. Both mass balance and segregated products have physical properties identical to petrochemicals.
