Materials / Establishing a Decarbonized Society: Materials Division Initiatives

Promoting Solar Panel Installation at Group Companies

At the Materials Division, we plan to expand on our efforts to install solar panels on building roofs and facilities operated by consolidated companies, and are currently in the process of introducing solar panels at Bangkok AI-TOA in Thailand (as of October 1, 2021). By promoting energy savings and reductions in CO2 emissions, we’re committed to supporting a decarbonized society.

Plan Overview

  • Number of panels to be installed: 2,800
  • Installation area: 7,200 m2
  • Maximum power generation: 1.5 MWp
  • Inverters: 15

[Calculation parameters]

  • Power generating capacity: 1.5 MW
  • Hours of sunshine: 3.87 hours (Hommer Energy USA index)
  • Days of operation: 330 days
  • CO2 emission factor: 0.5113 kg-CO2/kWh (Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization coefficient)

CO2 absorbed by 24,795 trees/year

[Calculation parameters]

  • Evergreen broadleaf tree (Para rubber tree) with 15 cm trunk and height of 7 to 10 m
  • Annual CO2 absorption coefficient of trees: 1.44 kg-CO2/year
