Heavy Water/Deuterium Compounds

Provision of Contract Synthesis of Heavy Water and Deuterium Compounds

These materials are used to help extend the life of the luminescent materials used in organic EL panels and reduce power consumption by organic EL panels.

Product Characteristics

Whereas regular water (H2O) consists of hydrogen and oxygen atoms, heavy water (D2O) is water made up of oxygen and atoms of the hydrogen isotope deuterium in place of hydrogen atoms. Deuterium atoms contain a neutron in the atomic nucleus.

1Structural Differences Between Water (H2O) And Heavy Water (D2O)

2Availability of Deuterium Compounds

Compounds such as isotopologues of benzene, bromobenzene, and toluene, in which hydrogen atoms are replaced with deuterium atoms, can also be synthesized on a contract basis, upon request.

Major Applications

Extending the life of the luminescent materials used in organic EL panels and reducing the power consumption by organic EL panels

Example Effects

Increasing the atomic weight reduces the stretching frequency, enabling efficient use of heat energy in the fluorescence process.
