Green Procurement and Quality Assurance

Green Procurement

European Union (EU) chemical regulations such as the RoHS, ELV, and REACH directives also apply to all products exported from Japan for sale within the EU. For this reason, manufacturers selling their products in European markets implement green procurement that involves researching in detail the histories of parts and raw materials used to ensure that their products do not contain restricted chemical substances.
In response to customer demand, Iwatani reviews suppliers to check deliveries for the presence of substances that have negative environmental impacts and related issues. Through these and other initiatives, we contribute to a greener supply chain.

Quality Assurance

Iwatani Group has established Iwatani Group Quality Policy based on its corporate philosophy: Become a person needed by society, as those needed by society can prosper. In line with this policy, the Quality Assurance Management Department works with the departments responsible for individual products in continual efforts to improve product quality, safety, and reliability.

Product Safety and Compliance Review

The Iwatani Group has established and operates a Product Safety & Brand Management Committee, on which external experts also participate as committee members. The committee undertakes rigorous safety and quality reviews, including reviews of legal and environmental issues, primarily for new products (e.g., products developed in-house and purchased from suppliers). Periodic compliance checks for existing products are also undertaken.
