Metal processing and surface coating company “Bangkok AI-TOA Co., Ltd.,”
Completes relocation and new factory launch for improved productivity and expanded management resources

Iwatani Corporation

Iwatani Corporation (Head office: Osaka and Tokyo; President: Akiji MAKINO; Paid-in Capital: 20,000 million yen) relocated the production equipment of “Bangkok AI-TOA Co. Ltd. (President: Masato Kato; Paid-in Capital: 280 million yen),” one of Iwatani’s affiliate companies, which operates in Thailand, to Samutsakorn Industrial Estate in the suburbs of Bangkok for the purpose of reinforcing its metal processing and surface coating businesses. The Bangkok Ai-Toa completed its new factory and started production on May 1, 2009.

Over 20 years since its foundation in December, 1990, the Bangkok AI-TOA Co., Ltd. has been engaged in manufacturing and sales of wire-coating products used for air-conditioner and home electric appliance manufacturers that have set up in Thailand from abroad for their business.

This new factory was created to expand production capabilities, reinforce management assets, improve infrastructure and secure human resources, necessitated by healthy sales trends of products supplied to Japanese, Korean, and Euro-American companies. The company plans to expand sales efforts to every foreign business that has launched in Thailand.

As a result of a drastic reexamination of manufacturing equipment during its relocation, the wire processing division of the new factory now has 3 units of automatic spot welding machines, 167 units of conventional spot welding machines, and 5 units of automatic wire bending machines; the production volume of wire products has come to 3,600 ton per year, an increase of 20% from the previous volume. The surface coating division is also engaged in operations to support various types of surface processing and finishing, and burring for precision pressed components using powder coating lines and electrostatic powder coating lines, capable of polyethylene, nylon and epoxy coating on automatic lines. Electrochemical polishing lines are also available for stainless products.

The Samutsakorn Industrial Estate, where the new factory is located, is within easy access, about 50 minutes to the west of Bangkok by car. It is one of the famous industrial parks established in 1990. Several Japanese companies are located here, taking advantage of its infrastructure, such as water supply, sewage disposal facilities, and power supplies.
