Iwatani Corporation (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Osaka-shi and Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Masao Nomura; Capital: 20 billion yen) will open a new Hydrogen Division when the organization is restructured on October 1.
The new Hydrogen Division is being established with a view to creating a hydrogen energy society, integrating the company’s hydrogen-related divisions to enable the company to respond more rapidly and with greater efficiency.
The Hydrogen Division will be established in the Industrial Gases and Machinery Business Group, and will carry out integrated management in respect of Iwatani hydrogen stations, hydrogen-related facility projects, and existing hydrogen-related business, from planning to development of a supply system and consolidating the profitability of the business.
Also on October 1, Iwatani will open the Toyota Branch, to which it will transfer control of part of the Nagoya Branch. This will enable the company to build a closer field-oriented relationship with Toyota Motor Corporation and its other suppliers in the Chubu region who are proactive users of hydrogen. Further, it will enable the company to provide a more rapid response to the varied needs of its suppliers, such as for liquid hydrogen and related equipment, as well as for technologies that utilize hydrogen energy.
